My name is Tony Pitts, the Founder of Fresh Coast Accounting. I have over 25 years of progressive experience with small to mid-size companies. Prior to founding Fresh Coast Accounting, I served as CFO & COO of a mid-sized private label consumer and automotive chemical manufacturing and distribution company, where I provided direct leadership to the company’s leadership, finance and supply chain teams. I currently am the CFO of the Ann Arbor T-Shirt Company and a. co-Partner and CFO of Cheboygan Brewing Company. I also serve several small businesses through my work with Fresh Coast Accounting. I earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan, an MBA from Wayne State University, and holds a current CPA license in the State of Michigan.
I believe in the positive impact successful businesses and organizations can have on their entire ecosystem – customers, suppliers, employees, owners, the community, and the planet. As more and more research demonstrates the benefits of positive business philosophies, I am excited about the opportunity to help others implement such practices.
As a lover of nature, I enjoy quiet time outside in the woods, on the river, and in the many scenic public parks our country has to offer. I serves as a board member at Huron Pines, the President, Treasurer and Trails Coordinator of the Friends of Island Lake State Recreation Area in Brighton, and led a project to build a new five mile hiking trail in the park in 2016. As a stewardship volunteer with the Huron River Watershed Council, my favorite way to help is through working with chainsaws to help keep our creeks and river navigable for canoes and kayaks.
I love to travel to the quieter parts of our planet, and usually try to find someplace natural to visit in all my business and personal travels. I share some of these experiences as well as the photographs I take along the way on Instagram (@theforgetfulwanderer) and my personal blog, The Forgetful Wanderer (www.theforgetfulwanderer.com).
Lastly, the picture used on this page needs an update. You are unlikely to catch me in a “jacket” these days!
